Yep, God Is Good!!!!
I have blogged for a while now. Granted, I am the first to tell you that your faces are very much a mystery. I know my Sister Stace reads these, and I look forward to her comments. I know Laura which is such a sweety, reads these as well. I also know that this blog has been opened over 795 times. That's more than a small town newspaper. That is extremely scary to this man.
Do you ever wonder what goes on the minds of others? I do all the time. I try to read what our campers are thinking, when they are sitting in their tents or shanties. Do they think about when life was good? How about when they where children and life had very little worries. Are they thinking about where they are getting their next meal? What about this one, does anyone out there care? man, I hope they know that they are love and cared about. I know there are groups that go out and do it for money. I know that some go out and do it to make themselves feel good.
However, I have been so blessed to say, that I have seen some of the most amazing friends serve Christ. Not just our group, that are the most amazing group of people I have ever met. I see others out there like Brother Fletcher, Sister Thivener, and Brother Rose, that care what happens to these people that have been forgotten by society, but not by God. What about Nicole, Debbie, and James from Maryhaven? Sure it is their job, but they care. There can never be any doubt that there is a flood of love flowing through our city. God is working, and he has found ambassadors to spread the love of Christ. I thank him right now, that he has allowed me to serve him in this way.
This last weekend, we met three wonderful servants of Christ. They have joined together and have taken to the streets to spread the word. They radiate the love of God. We only had a little time to talk to them, but in that short time, I feel in love with them. You know when God is using someone, because when you walk away from them and you have the need to do more. I cannot wait, to meet them again. One of them asked me if I preach. And you all know, that I am terrified to speak in public. No really, I am terrified. Then she looked at me and said she was already thinking about where she wants me to preach. I was like what are you talking about? Then it hit me, if she would ask me to preach, I would do it in a heart beat. I actually had the desire at that point to preach. Yep, God is good.
So, enough about this. The year is ending and this has been a very exciting year for LOS. We found wonderful friends to serve with. We have seen our children grow in our ministry. A couple of our campers have left the streets and even better we have joined with a group that wants to rip off the bandage and actually heal the decease called homelessness.
Keep in mind as I blogged before, Satan has tried everything to hurt our ministry. He has tried hurting our marriage, that didn't work (as my wife would say "Yeah God"), he has used our pastor and his staff to try to hurt our ministry and again nope it didn't work. Satan has used almost every possible means to break up this wonderful work we do, but God has let it be known, his work will be done. What a blessing to have our Creator in our corner. Does it get better? Wait it does!!!! We get to keep doing it.
So, we met these wonderful ladies and I felt the holy Spirit working, and then Satan tries it again. There are a couple of drunk campers that make a scene at one of our next stops. It happens again, God steps in and Brother Jeff finds the rights words to calm things down, and then several days later Jeff and I meet to talk about this and new exciting doors open. So, Satan attacked, God steps in and now his word will be spread further. Do I have to say it again? Okay I will. God Is Great....
These is a season to remember. We will remember our Lord being born. I ask that we also, remember our campers that have past this last year. I pray they have gone home to be with our maker.
